Stepantsminda-Kazbegi National Park

Stepantsminda is small settlement the center of the Kazbegi , located downhill the one of the highest mountains in the Europe (5043 m) Kazbegi. It is covered by snow and glaciers, fresh mountain air and mineral springs of Stepantsminda are considered to be the main therapy for breathing or eating disorders. Local attractions include the Kazbegi - Ethnographic Museum in town, and the Gergeti Trinity Church outside of town, and forests of the surrounding Kazbegi Nature Reserve. Park is located in the Greater Caucasus Mountains in northern Georgia and covers an area of 8707 hectares.The park contains Georgia’s third highest peak – Mount Kazbegi, several historical sites, stone towers and churches. The park is rich in wildlife and geothermal springs. Among the entertainment most popular and widely practiced here is extreme tourism. Besides mountain climbing here are organized paragliding flights, horse riding, cycling activities and rafting.
